The sky darkened gradually on the Circuit Jean Brun for the KF3 final. Brandon Maisano immediately took the lead followed by Nyck De Vries. Significantly a crash at the first corner involved championship contender Guillaume De Ridder who was left in around 20th position.
Maisano and De Vries pulled away while Vittorio Ghirelli tried to attack Yuri Grigorenko. Matteo Beretta was fourth, Clemente Picariello was fifth. De Ridder was back in the top 15 by lap five and then 13th on the next lap. De Vries closed on Maisano and Grigiorenko gave up the third place to Ghirelli. Carel Tanguy dislodged Jimmy Antunes in fifth place.
The positions and gaps were fairly stable except for De Ridder who had alleyes on him. He edged into eighth place four laps from the end of the race. Michael Heche overtook Picariello but found himself pushed off the track later when fifth. The winner seemed certain but the battle raged behind. De Ridder attempted an attack on Carel but it was Picariello who benefited. De Ridder seized the initiative and got rid of Carel on the last lap to take fourth place.
